Yet another follow up appointment for DD. is there any point at all?

DD has been ill on and off for a whole year now. nothing specific - all v vague. has constant nausea and tummy ache. behaviour is horrible. is v anxious. stroppy. won't eat etc etc etc. long and tedious tale.
anyway we have a follow up appointment tomorrow at bristol childrens hosp. last time they decided it was 'gastritis' - a wooly term for a sore tummy. prescribed antacids which made not a jot of difference.
i haven't yet told her because i know t will mean her working herself up into a frenzy and nagging and wailing until we leave for the appointment.
am wondering whether to go at all since no one has any idea what is actually wrong with her - if anything. you name it - i've considered it. I have no idea whether her behavioural problems are caused by the physical ones or the physical caused by behavioural. no idea at all.
do i cancel in the hope that at some point within the next 8 years she grows out of it or do i drag her there in the hope that someone may know what is the matter?

I would insist on some answers if you can. Could you take someone with you and once they have examined your daughter she could go and wiat outside and you could have a good talk with the Dr.

If they can't give you any specific answers I would ask them to refer you to a specialist.

Could it be stomach migraine? here

Has she been tested for coeliac disease ? That can have many symptoms, inc behaviour problems, and anyone who tells you that because her weight/growth is normal she can't have it, is not worth talking to.

We've a little experience of the Children's hospital - I think variable describes it! Hope it goes well tomorrow!

Oh yes, the parking is a complete PITA. There is a NCP car park on Park Row which usually has spaces.

Have they thought of mesenteric adenitis - sort of tonsilitis in the abdomen? My dd (who is 11) has had 2 bouts of it; they did major scan plus blood tests etc. (Advice on leaving hospital - try to avoid picking up infections....)

she's been tested for coeliacs as that is the thing i thought it was but it appears from all her blood tests she is entirely normal despite living on chocolate spread sandwiches.

what frustrates me is having no idea what is wrong with her. i am a nurse so have some knowledge and the skills to research things and i still have no idea.
she ges tummy aches every single day with waves of nausea. she's never actually sick but has a huge enormous phobia of being. and she can be perfectly happy and doing stuff then suddenly get pain or get stroppy.
