A big back tooth its sort of sliced off/ snapped iykwim .Od god, gonna be a nightmare I can tell, she is already freaking out.

That happened to me.
Dentist said the nerve was dead, so out came the tooth - wasn't traumatic.

Where is the piece from? How old is your dd (is that 7 yrs?)

Are they in pain? how did they do it?
