Protien in urine in a 6 yr old

ds has had a couple of urine sample taken which have had protein in them.
Has anyone else dc's had this and what could it mean?
The gp sent the last sample off to get an accurate reading of how much protien there was and we have an appointment tomorrow to find out what the results are but I'm starting to worry about how serious this could be

It's probably nothing to worry about. Have you googled proteinuria? Were they FMU samples?

One of my children has Alport Syndrome with massive protein loss, in the nephrotic range

Was going to write more but nursury just called to say they think my daughter has chicken pox. Off to get her now.

Whoops just got back from GP's for DD2 also 6. After being sick since last monday, have been told she has protein and keytones in her urine. Which has been suggested its a urine infection. Have been perscribed cefalexin.

Hope DS is ok

I'm aware of that thanks. I have started a new thread with no replies yet, hence the desperation of commenting on an old thread. When your worried out of your mind you will try anything.
