Should first set of vaccinations be 8 weeks ot 2 calendar months ??

My DS is 4 now and he had his done at 8 weeks. My health visitor has told me that they should be done at 8 weeks but when I went to book them for my DD at the doctors surgery they said that they should be done at 2 calendar months. As my DD was born on a Saturday 2 calendar months would be the following Thursday. Apparently they only do them at the surgery on a Tuesday so she will have to wait until the following Tuesday. This basically means that she will be 9 and a half weeks. Does anyone know if this is ok ??

I reckon there is some leeway, because my DDs have always run a week or two (or more) late for theirs.

For DD1 it was due to my not wanting to vacinate her when she was already ill, so I'd wait until she was better.

For DD2, I kept forgetting!

I think there should be 4 weeks or so in between them though.

In the red book, the jabs are 8, 12 and 16 weeks I think (have a look to check, it's printed on one of the pages in the immunisations section).

My DD was born on a Saturday. She had her first lot just before she was 2 calendar months old.

Think it's better to wait for the 2 calendar months though, because then you can give calpol if child poorly.

They've changed the jabs now - you get the big one with tetanus, polio etc, but you also get the PCV (pneu) at the same time. My DS is 2 and he didn't get this with his baby jabs so your DS wouldn't have had it either.

My DD was a bit poorly after the first lot, I would have liked to give calpol, but she was a day under 2 months. HTH.

My Dd had hers at 12,16 and 20 weeks due to only one clinic a week for doing jabs and so many babies/children having jabs.
