Anyone else get anxious when their children go abroad without you?

Hi everyone

My 3 DC are going to Majorca with their dad next Wednesday and I dont know if im just being hormonal because im heavily pregnant or if this is a normal way to feel

Theyre 6, 4 and 2 and its the first time any of them have been abroad. Its also the first time theyll be away from me for that long

Its just their dad taking them, his partner isnt going

Before anyone says it I do trust him with them, this isnt me saying hes a bad dad because he isnt. Hes perfectly capable of looking after them and I know they'll have a lovely time

I just keep thinking what if one of them gets ill, what if theres an emergency, what if they hate flying or something happens while they're away

I know all of those things could happen here aswell but because they'll be in another country it feels different somehow

Im due really soon aswell so I think every little thing is making me more emotional than it normally would

Has anyone else felt like this the first time their children went abroad without you or am I just being daft?

Im trying not to let the children see im worried because I want them to be excited, I just cant seem to stop over thinking it myself

Mine are almost grown and I’m still so anxious when they go away. Both have been abroad on school trips(at different times) and I don’t cope well with it. At 6, 4 and 2 I’d be going out of my mind.
No practical advice @TreadlngWater sorry! Just wanted you to know I would feel exactly the same way and I’m thinking of you.
I’m sure the kids will have the best time ever and all will be fine x

Thank you ❤️ thats actually made me feel a bit better knowing its not just me

I think because they're still so little it feels harder. My 6 year old is excited but my 2 year old still wants me for everything and thats the bit im struggling with

I know realistically they'll probably have the best week ever and barely even think about me 😂 but ill definitely be the one sat here worrying

Im trying really hard not to let them see it because I dont want them picking up on my anxiety and thinking theres something to worry about

Hopefully once theyve landed and I know they're there safely ill calm down a bit
