Where do I start. My eldest will be 5 in 3 weeks and ever since she was 14 months old she has massively struggled with meltdowns. Not tantrums, full complete out of control meltdowns. That can last anywhere from 15 minutes to 3+ hours.
She's always been very advanced with her speech, so it isn't that.
Tonight's one has come about because she was sent home from preschool with a kit to make an eclipse lens. Her dad started making it and she was adamant it wasn't right. This has resulted in a complete meltdown and I'm now bleeding in 2 places where I had to pick her up to move her to a safe place as she tends to attack her younger sister.
Other things to note is that she goes through phases little 'isms' but they pass. One was livking the palms of her hands for comfort, one was clearing her throat in a funny way over and over.
I guess what I'm asking is, do we need to consider if she may need additional support or does this all sound very normal?
