Day 8 of fever - losing my mind 🤯

I’m losing my mind. 😂

5 year old is in day 8 of fever. Goes down with Calpol and Nurofen. 7 year old caught it Saturday so he’s on day 3
Both coughing constantly.

Seen Doctor 3 times and out of hours.
we’re off again this morning just because I need answers. I’ve heard a viral fever (if thats what it is) can turn bacterial. No rashes, no ear infection, no tonsillitis. Apart from the cough it’s just the fever.

They are drinking and eating little and often. Obviously not as much as normal but definitely eating and drinking something.

I’ve been stuck in the house for 8 days. I’m praying with one-year-old daughter doesn’t catch it too.

I’m scared school are going to march round and ask why the kids are having so much time off. They are so passionate at the moment about attendance they make you really really awful if the kids are off.

Someone give me some hope that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

I would go back to the gp again. My daughter had flu in January which then triggered tonsillitis which caused fever for around 7 days. Sorry - that’s the only advice I have. It may have developed into something else

I’d want a Strep A throat swab done today

No health advice but regarding school. I’d be proactive about telling them why your child is off and not waiting for them to query it.

Show or send in screenshots of your GP appointments and make sure you’re keeping school fully informed. Schools understand that children get sick but we do have to prove to the LA that we’re querying and documenting absences and reasons.
