Worried about baby acne scars

My baby had bad baby acne from just after birth until 7 or 8 weeks. Loads of little pimples across his t-zone. After a while it was like his nose pores were really clogged and when I wiped his face these blocked pores would pop out, like little seeds? It’s left him with a few tiny marks, like little pits or open pores, that I worry are going to be permanent. They are really tiny, literally just pore sized but I feel really sad about them as he’s just so little to have bad skin! There’s still stuff under the skin on his nose so presumably this is going to keep happening as more come to the surface? He also has blackheads on his chin, I am really hoping these might clear up. I don’t use any products on his skin, just wipe with water and a reusable wet wipe once a day.

I look at other baby’s faces and they all look so smooth and clear - I just wondered if anyone else here also had this with their babies and if their skin cleared up and healed? He sometimes scratches his face when I’ve not cut his nails very well and these heal so quick but I worry his acne has left marks that won’t heal.

On the grand scheme of having a baby and things to worry about, I’d say this is minor.. our son had head to toe eczema and scratched as a baby and has perfect skin as a teenager.. his skin will be renewing and regenerating all of the time.. it’s very unlikely I think that he’ll be left with scarring.

Agree with above poster.
My son had red raw, oozing skin on his face. The bed sheets were bloody.
By aged 2 his skin was perfect with no scarring.
Baby acne also won't scar

Thanks for replying both! It is helpful to hear this.

My baby had this too and I worried so much about the little marks, but it completely cleared up over time. Those tiny “seed” clogged pores and blackheads are really common with baby acne/newborn hormones. Baby skin heals amazingly well, so tiny pore-like marks usually fade as their skin matures. You’re doing the right thing keeping it simple with just water, honestly I think this is much more common than it seems when you compare babies ❤️

Thank you so much. They are such tiny marks and only 4 I can count but I have been agonising about them and potential future scars from more little spots he has now. I just want to look after him as best as I can and feel I am failing him by letting his skin be damaged so early. Very grateful to hear you also worried and they faded. I really appreciate knowing this isn’t just me and my baby.
