11-year-old starting periods early and concerns about height growth

Dd is 11 and 8 months and just started periods ( very light spotting) no boob's yet but it looks like this is her her first period.

My worry is that she is only 4 foot 8. Will she grow to be 5foot?

I was on a thread months ago about precocious puberty. Not my thread but I was on it because dd was so short and showing signs of puberty. Luckily she has had a good growth spurt but I'm worried her growth will really slow now.

A private endocrinologist was mentioned. Does anyone have any recommendations for the SE? It's just her height I'm worried about right now.

BTW the thread title was suggested. I don't think it's too early at 11. That's perfectly normal.

Im worried about this too as my 11.5 yr old is only 4 foot 3 and is showing signs her period will start soon (has had spotting) - and I worry she’s going to be very short indeed! I am only 5 foot but there is quite a difference between being short but within the normal range and potentially still wearing age 8-9 clothes as an adult!

Just to reassure you. My Dsister was like your daughter. About 4” 8’ and like a whippet when she started her periods in year 6. The school nurse at the time commented that it was usually “the bigger girls who started early”.
My sister is now in her 40s and while she’s still only 5” (we’re all shorties), she absolutely did carry on growing after her periods started.

My DD was tiny when she started her periods. They usually have around two years of height growth after starting their periods and this was true for my DD. She reached 5ft 1.

I've only heard about not growing after periods begin on mumset. But likewise never see anything about needing to be 7 stone before they start either, which is what I've always understood!

I started at 11 and definitely grew more after that, including a couple of inches when I was about 15.

Hi op. I am 4’8”, started my periods at 9 years old, 30 now! Please don’t be worried about her not growing she could just be super tiny like I am!

My daughter was 11 yrs 4 months when she started her periods and of a similar height. She is now 17yrs and 5ft 4. To me this is quite small as I’m 5ft 7 and her dad is 6ft 2 (her brother is 6ft 4) she loves her height - randomly most of her friends are all similar height

Thanks. She is only 5 stone, too. Dhs family are very short. His mum is 4,6. His cousin 4,3, both fully grown adults. Whilst the main panic if her being 4.3 as an adult has gone, I do want her to hit 5 feet. The chances of her looking like a ten year old forever. She hasn't grown at all for about two and a half years, and I was hoping this growth spurt might put her closer to a more normal height.

I know being short is fine, but from cousin and mil pov, it has some negatives. I started periods younger than dd. I can't recall how much more I grew. It's the NHS info online saying growth only continues about 2" after periods start, not just MN. On the balance of probability, she will not hit 5 feet now but be 4, 10. She can easily pass as 7 or 8. At swimming, she is continually told she can't be on her own as an under 8. I feel so bad for her. She will be shorter than Kylie.
