Does this look like chicken pox or viral?

She came out with spots on her thigh and belly yesterday.
We went doctors yesterday, but they were unsure whether it was pox or viral.
Toddler is eating/drinking fine. Got a snotty nose, but also had it for about 2 weeks.. had loose poos yesterday and the day before. Abit whingey at times, not had a temp so far.

I am not a doctor, but I think it looks like chicken pox. My DS had it a few weeks ago - spots like this, which scabbed over gradually starting a few days after the spots came, totally scabbed over and back in school a week later.

The itching lasted a bit longer, and he has small pink marks still, a few weeks later. They’re fading though.

Are the spots fluid filled? If yes then def Chicken Pox

DramaAlpaca · 10/04/2026 14:16

Could be, it's hard to see but it might be the early stages of it. You'll know by tomorrow as if it's chicken pox she'll likely be covered in them, unfortunately. It's very itchy and the spots soon become filled with fluid. If it is chicken pox, she'll be very contagious at the moment, and will be until all the spots have scabbed over which takes about a week. None of my three had a temperature with it.

They don’t look fluid filled.
Maybe tomorrow it will be more obvious.
Is the vaccine not standard? I thought it was now included?

Thank you and think the Vaccines only just been offered hasn't it? She had her 1 year jabs in August 2025 x
