Persistent unexplained mark on child’s leg after chicken pox treatment

Hello, my child had a mark appear on their leg a couple of weeks ago whilst on antiviral medication for chicken pox. This mark has still not dissapeared. Has anyone had similar or know what it could be? I want to say it is like a bruise but at the same time it isn't. It will soon be 3 weeks they have had this for. Thanks for any advice.

You can get scarring like that but worse after shingles (which is also the chickenpox virus), so I think the skin colour change is from the chickenpox itself. https://www.yalemedicine.org/conditions/shingles

I'm also amazed anyone would give acyclovir for chickenpox in the UK tbh, normally they just expect kids to suffer through.

He took a bad reaction to the chicken pox and had a high temperature that was not getting better after several days. I think this is why antivirals were given. It is quite a large area of discolouration and he never had any chicken pox where the mark is. Perhaps the virus has caused it though. Thanks for replying.
