My 10 month old needs an orchidopexy. The NHS waits in Glasgow are way beyond the time it is supposed to be done (6-12 months ish).

they can’t give me any ideas of dates.

has anyone had this down privately? Any recommendations or equally places to avoid?

I can’t really afford it but I feel I have to find a way.

Can you travel? Try Professor Cervellioni who is based in Manchester. BUPA approved.

Following as we are in the same boat, hope
you manage to get it sorted soon. I can’t believe the NHS waiting times mean babies are being left with this despite the long term risks to their health and fertility.

Thank you for replying. I made a complaint to the health board and asked them why they are letting babies go past the recommended 12 months. They they then contacted us with a short notice date and he has had his op. It actually turned about to be intrabdominal and more complicated so I am glad he wasn’t seen privately as could have been more complex.

It is sad that complaining leads to an earlier date as I feel worried for all the babies waiting.

As you say spire Manchester would have treated him and maybe spire Leeds but they really should sort out the babies on the NHS.
