Someone kissed my 7 week old’s head

Hi there, looking for reassurance as my anxiety is sky rocketing ( I don’t want any scaring!)
we knew a couple who’s 2 week old died due to the cold sore virus and subsequently didn’t let anyone kiss our baby. However, there’s always one! My uncle kissed my 7 week olds head , he didn’t have a cold sore but I think he’s had one before which really really worries me. Anyone else had this experience? I baby antibacced her hands and head after but I don’t know if that helps.

thanks in advance x

She'll be fine. The fact that you know a baby who died due to a cold sore contact is terrible and is bound to play on your mind. But kissed on the head with no actual cold sore there's pretty much zero risk.
Enjoy your baby and remember that every single week her immune system matures and gets stronger. 🥰

OP, you sound as though you're having an anxiety attack. Your baby is almost certainly safe, especially if your uncle had no active sores or wasn't developing one. You wiped baby over afterwards (which probably wasn't necessary), so try not to fret. I dare say your experience of your friend losing their baby has caused this. Maybe talk to your midwife or GP about your anxiety, and ways to deal with it.
