5 year old complaining of wobbly legs - worried

At bedtime tonight my 5 year old said he feels wobbly in his legs, then later said his arms also felt wobbly too, his whole body.

I am a worrier. I don't really know what it means. He's been fine up until then.

I was trying to get him to say more words to help me but he just used the word wobbly. Any ideas? Thanks.

My ds always says this when he's unwell- often when he has a temperature too. See how he is tomorrow but don't worry.

@Jinglejinglejingle7 thank you for your reply. He doesn't seem to have a temp but I did wonder if it could also be tiredness?

I would just think he was hungry or tired.

He still feels wobbly this morning.

Maybe he is growing?
Give him some porridge or a glass of milk with breakfast and tell him about milk having calcium that strengthens bones so should help him with being wobbly.
Keep an eye on him and see if he has a temp later on or looks tired.
Don't stress

My DS used to say his feet felt sloppy - was so confused - it was because his shoes or socks felt too big.

Does he look wobbly/unsteady?

Waitingformychinesetakeaway · 28/01/2026 12:41

He’s 5, feeling wobbly could mean anything. It could be unsure about something, anxious about school or friends or something he watched on the tv. He might be under the weather, be a bit run down or not getting enough sleep. Is he actually wobbly, limping, have an unsteady gait, lost power or movement in any of his arms or legs?

Lunchtimehelp · 28/01/2026 21:59

Thanks for the replies. He said his legs, arms and belly felt like they were shaking from the inside.

No he doesn't look unsteady.
