18 month old with fever - advice

My 18 month old has been more fussy/clingy than usual for the past 48 hours. Had a feeling he may be coming down with something.

I’ve woken him up from his nap this afternoon, he was fast asleep and we were entering the danger nap time zone. His forehead felt hot against mine and I’ve taken his temp a few times in the last hour and it’s ranged between 38-38.8

he looks pale, has quite cold hands, has just done quite a loose nappy, but other than that is alert and happy.

seeing as it’s a Sunday evening - what is the course of action I take?

I’m a huge worrier and have terrible health anxiety when it comes to the kids - and my nerves are starting to go

Give him some Calpol, push fluids, watch for wet nappies, and watch out for rashes.

Gone up to 39.4.

How did it go op? Remember ibuprofen is better at lowering temps than Calpol is. Is he eating/drinking/engaging with you?

How is he?

Got admitted to ward with throat infection but possibly sepsis so being treated for sepsis until blood cultures come back.

mum instinct is always right isn’t it.

thanks all xxx
