Smelly ears and itchiness after grommets?

My son has grommets put in Friday. He’s not been doing well over the weekend.
we took him to hospital yesterday as I had a few concerns, if I’m honest it was a pointless trip.
they said the ENT’s arnt in until during the week & we was sent home.

today he’s had ‘itchy’ ears as he’s described, and his ears smell foul. I can’t even describe the smell.
has anyone had this issue?

im going to ring the Dr’s first thing and get him seen as I’m worried.
Hes not got them wet. He’s still on calpol ect. He’s really small for his age, and this operation took a lot out of him - but it was the best thing to do as we was battling continuous ear infections.

any advice welcome.

definitely contact your GP @ThatLoyalBlueHare it may be your son has an infection

I don’t think it’s normal to still be on calpol a few days after having grommets. My son had calpol before the op and one dose after the op and then he was fine (and he’d have calpol for anything if he could)
It does sound like he has an infection and that needs to be checked over

He’s got antibiotics for an infection - should be much better after a few days, thank you 🙂
