Best way to reintroduce solids to 13month old after d&v illness

We’ve had an awful couple of days with d&v during which DS wasn’t even able to keep down breast milk or water.

Thankfully, he hasn’t been sick since yesterday teatime, and he has kept down the breast milk he’s had since then.

I’m wondering how best to reintroduce solids to him - in terms of what should I start him with, dry toast maybe?

I know I’m probably overthinking this but I am so exhausted!

This morning he did have a very big, loose nappy but I don’t think that’s a reason to not give him food? Grateful for all advice thank you.

Yeah dry toast and banana are two of the safest bets. No fruit juices or citric fruits.

Plain rice as well, maybe keep a bit of the cooking liquid, and a tiny bit of butter.

You can start slowly by offering small amounts of very bland, easy-to-digest foods first. Plain rice, mashed banana, and plain potatoes are all good starters. Avoid rich, fatty, or spicy foods. Once he’s handling these bland foods well, you can gradually return to his normal meals.

A baby probiotic can help too. The D will have flushed out the good flora...
