Low grade fever for 8 days

6yr old has had a sore throat and cough for nearly 12 days. Last Monday however she started having high temperature of 103F. The next day she woke up with crusty green stuff around eyes. Her eyes were red and swollen for the whole of last week, with a bit of improvement from Sunday. She has also complained of pain in cheeks and ear and so I booked in with the GP who said it is probably an ear infection and prescribed her amoxicillin. Ear infection is better and her fever has gone down from 103F to 99F and has stayed like that for the past couple of days. It has been 9 days. I had an appointment with the GP today as she has been coughing terribly at night time and was told she has developed post viral croup, and has been given one off steroid dose. The GP told me her body is trying to fight off the infection so the low grade fever. Anyone with similar experience of low grade fever for so long? Thanks

Could be adenovirus - pharyngoconjunctival fever https://www.malacards.org/card/pharyngoconjunctival_fever

It went round the students I work with recently. Grotty eyes and coughs together
