Bronchiolitis outbreak at nursery - what are the chances dd1 will dodge it?

There are two cases of bronchiolitis at my daughter’s nursery. Is this something that tends to spread like wildfire, or has your LO managed to avoid it? Just want to prepare myself!

Plenty of children get asymptomatic RSV infections. It depends a lot on age (basically the older the better). For a lot of babies and toddlers it's just a very snotty cold.

However, if your child does get ill and starts showing any symptoms that worry you (https://www.alderhey.nhs.uk/conditions/patient-information-leaflets/bronchiolitis/ ) I would have a very low bar for seeing the GP and I would tell them straight up that there is confirmed RSV doing the rounds at LO's nursery.

Bronchiolitis - Alder Hey Children's Hospital Trust

This leaflet aims to give you information about ankle foot sprain and advice following Emergency Department attendance.

Thank you this is so helpful 🙏 crossing fingers. She’s fine for now but I see that it can take a long time to show up.
