Fungal/Yeast Infection

Hi mums,

My daughter is 7, she will be 8 in January. She tested positive for a vaginal fungal/yeast infection, and we are using cream to treat it. My question is has anyone's child that had this had any strange discharge? There are dark or grey what look like fibres in her underwear (small ones but if you look closely like I have that's what they look like). I am going crazy trying to google what it may be, we don't have our gynaecologist appointment follow up for another few months. Any advice would be appreciated 👍🏻

Depends on how big they are
Fungi make hyphae but they are small (you would have to look very closely!). Other possibility is thread or pin worms.

Thank you I had never heard of hyphae before that's very interesting.

I've only seen them down a microscope, I don't know if they would be visible to the naked eye. Whereas worms definitely are visible and can cause symptoms similar to your daughter's.
