Toenail injury / infection

DD9 stubbed her big toe a couple of days ago, it bled and has been very sore. Just noticed there's pus around the nail, think she'll need antibiotics. Would you try and get an out of hours appointment or wait until tomorrow and see the GP?

I'd wait until tomorrow and see GP. It doesn't look pleasant though, how painful is it?

Id soak in saline tonight then put something antiseptic on and then see GP tomorrow. Calpol or nurofen if it's very sore?

Pretty sore, it has been since she did it though. Until we had signs of infection I figured there was nothing that could be done and we just had to wait for it to heal.

Thanks, we've been giving painkillers but will try a saline soak.

I wouldn't bother. It's pretty normal to get a minor infection if you damage the quick. It will clear up in a week if you keep clean and do basic wound care.
