Mum kissed my toddler with a coldsore

My toddler is 21 months. My mum has a coldsore and kissed her.

I had already said more than once not to - but she had just fallen over with my toddler in her arms and she was so relieved my toddler was OK she forgot.

(Kissing my toddler with a coldsore and falling over with her makes my mum sound like a real liability - she's not! She's normally excellent and perfectly behaved - it was just extreme bad luck that she tripped and a moment of forgetting.)

I'm just looking for reassurance that my toddler might not catch herpes! I know it can be really brutal for little ones! I'm super anxious!

Is there any chance she'll get away with it?

How active was the cold sore? Had it scabbed over or was it like an open wound? And did she kiss her on the lips?

I think it's scabbed over, and it was on her cheek/ side of the head.
