3 year old waking up with arm cramps during the night?

My 3 year old has been waking up with cramps in her arm during the night at least a couple of times a week. Is this normal and just from sleeping in a funny position or is it unusual?

She has hypotonia (low muscle tone) and sometimes get cramps in her legs during the day which doctors don’t seem too worried about and think it’s connected to her hypotonia. I’m wondering if the arm cramps are connected too even though they only occur at night.

Might be Ehlers Danos, my child who had it used get a lot of cramps at night, both arms & legs. Think muscle tone issues can be related too.

My DD is 6 and has had this on and off over the years. We never found a cause, I think she was prone to sleeping on it but I also noticed there was a link with being dehydrated. At least when she drank plenty it seemed to happen less.

I will add DD doesn’t have hypotonia but is very flexible, clumsy and doesn’t seem to have a very strong core. Nothing diagnosed and discharged by NHS physio as being on the bendy end of normal.
