Top of mouth red spot and dots (with picture)

My 5 year old son came back from school with a sore throat and sneezing. He has this weird red rash on the top of his mouth. Could it just be viral or is it maybe something else? He was perfectly fine this morning so I’m not sure.

I would keep an eye on those, they don't look right for koplik spots (measles) but spots in the mouth immediately made me think of measles and hand foot and mouth. Can you send a photo to your GP?
