Headaches in 11yr old boy - stress migraine?

My 11yr old son started secondary last week. On Monday this week, he had a maths test and came home saying he had had a bad headache during the test - he said he went really hot and the pain was like a pressure in his forehead. As he had had a few headaches earlier in the year (March and July, when he was poorly / random episodes) i took him to the GP yesterday who said it could be stress migraine. He also had a similar episode in June when he was doing a maths SATS test.

Hes come home absolutely fine, and said the pain had gone as soon as the test was over. There are no other red flags; just this “stress migraine” on Monday and today (Wednesday), and both times were during a test.

Not sure if this is worth mentioning, but he is also a coeliac.

Has anyone else experienced similar with their child? The GP didnt think it was anything concerning as the episodes (not today’s one) were so far apart and sporadic, and the fact that he was fine before and after the test, made her think it was just stress.

Sorry, I forgot to include the fact that he had a SECOND “stress migraine” today in another test. So one on Monday and another today. We saw the Gp yesterday who said just to keep an eye and told me the red flags to watch out for.

Does he wear glasses or had an eye test recently?

@RoseDog he had an eye test back in March after the first lot of headaches and that was clear. He doesn’t need glasses (although I have quite a strong prescription and they did say he may need them when he’s older).
