Child suffering intermittent stomach pain and lethargy?

My little girl is 4 years old and came home from nursery on Friday extremely lethargic which is not like her at all. Didn’t want her tea and went to bed at 6pm again not at all like her. She woke around 10 pm saying her tummy hurts and then woke again at midnight and was sick once. That’s was the only time.

Saturday, Sunday and today have all been the same. Extremely lethargic, hardly eating, complaining that her tummy hurts every so often to the point it makes her cry. Sleeping loads.

She hasn’t had a fever and was only sick the once, the main thing bothering her is the tummy pain and I’m really worried about her lethargic she is. Has anyone got any ideas?

Hi,

My little one had the same last year and it turned out to be a perforated appendix. It's very rare in kids so young but it does happen. I'm sure they were an extreme case but they declined very quickly and it had to come out.

other things that were explored or suggested prior to that were a UTI or kidney infection or severe constipation. Might be worth exploring those too!

My 4 year old had similar last year and we went around in circles for weeks back and forth to GP and out of hours. It turned out to be a missed UTI in the end. Not very typical symptoms main symptom he had was tiredness and sore tummy which we put down to a tummy bug. Worth having her checked by Gp if it continues into tomorrow hope she’s Better soon

If a more obvious cause is not found it may be worth ruling out coeliac disease.
