Toddler potentially drank some of my vitamin

Hello

DD is 21 months and lives with me and my parents.

i have pcos so take myo-inositol - half a scoop diluted into 200ml water. It’s vitamin b8.

i left the cup on the kitchen counter, mother was cleaning and moved it onto butchers block as she thought it was just water, which is slightly lower. DD reached and grabbed it, as I turned around I saw and quickly grabbed it off her.

it didn’t look like she took a sip as she was just starting at the glass but I can’t be sure obviously.

called Doctors and the receptionist said it’s a vitamin b8 so it is what it is, but she didn’t speak to doctor and refused to let me arrange an appointment as she says they’re fully booked already and emergency slots are gone. I suggested calling 111 but she just said it’s up to me if I want to wait on the phone and spend my day in a&e.

my dad is telling me it’s nothing to worry about and wouldn’t call 111. Am I panicking too much?

It’s a water soluble vitamin. She’ll be absolutely fine OP and any excess will be excreted in her urine

My niece did the last of my uncles cider in one 🤣 she'll be okay xx

There are only a handful of vitamin that can cause issues in large volumes. Most are water soluble which means the body takes what it needs and then pees out the rest.
Vitamin A is main vitamin to worry about as you can easily get toxic by having too much but the majority won't cause any issues.
If you need a bit do reassurance I'd take the packet down to the pharmacy and speak to the pharmacist.

@Superscientist thank you - it says myo inositol also known as vitamin b8 and no other ingredients. Was bought from boots not Amazon or anything like that… hopefully it’s ok x

Pharmacist are very knowledgeable about medication and risks and all of that even if you didn't buy it from the pharmacy they will be quickly able to give you reassurance about the risks.

I don't think one sip is going to cause any harm
