My son is 16 weeks old and has brought up milk after feeds since he was born. He is formula fed oh Kendamil. This seems to have worsened the last 4-6 weeks and he’s often spitting up anywhere from 3-7 times after a feed and sometimes it can be a fair bit of milk. He also brings up curdled milk sometimes 2/3 hours after he’s been fed. He’s a good weight (consistently in 90th centile) and generally settled however sometimes agitated before he brings the milk up and struggles laying flat for hours after a feed. This still happens even if he’s kept upright after a feed.

spoke to the GP and they are very against giving gaviscon as it causes constipation.

Does anyone else have any similar experience and know what age it will settle down or is it worth trying a different formula?

thanks

Oh I really feel for you! One of ours ended up on a liquid treatment that I can’t remember the name of - but I’m sure I read they don’t prescribe it anymore anyway. I used to worry about him sleeping as he’d vomit even when fast asleep. It sorted itself out when he could sit up a bit more which coincided with when he started food. He refused milk once weaning established. He had to feed him lots of weetabix soaked in formula to keep the recommended requirements of milk up. It does become a distant memory but I do remember I felt awful at the time. The lack of sleep didn’t help at all either.

I got the health visitor to take me seriously. When she stated he had reflux and needed treatment, the GPs leapt to it, having ignored my concerns.
