Does this look like the start of chickenpox?

My 5 year old son woke up itching this morning and I noticed this rash, my children haven’t had chickenpox yet so I’m wondering if this is the start of it or if it could be something else. It’s on his front and back and top of legs and arms. I know it’s so hard to tell. I thought it could be heat rash but it seems more spaced out than that. I would expect chickenpox to maybe look a bit redder though? TIA.

Looks like it to me, yes. Oat baths are very helpful.

Thanks for your reply 🙂 this is them now, a few hours later, they are still much the same. I expected chickenpox to be much redder. Im not sure how quick they spread or worsen generally.

It looks absolutely nothing like the start of CP imo op. It looks widespread and generally just textured all over - CP isn't anything like this, it's just spots, with clear and 'normal' skin between them.

Looks like heat or generic viral rash to me but not CP.

Chicken pox spots usually have a central clear blister (except for the odd one). These look like a widespread viral or heat rash, but if concerned, send a closer photo to your GP.

Thanks all! I’m not concerned at all, otherwise would be at the Drs, my son is absolutely fine in himself but just wondered what others thought to the rash.

Sorry for jumping on your thread, my little one had a bit of a temp amd off day on monday, then on tuesday he has a rash round his mouth, we thought hand foot and mouth. I took him the doctors and he had impetigo, he checked some spots on his back and he said its quite early but he thinks theyre chicken pox? Im gonna call tomorrow for a second opinion.. he has a rash but also spots? Could people please tell me what they think? They're mainly on his legs! 4 on his back but not gone any bigger in 24 hours

@30mummyif you insist they will test the blisters, I asked them to test so I knew whether to bother with chicken pox vaccine
