Baby (6months) has always been a very hungry baby. He’s on solids and screams for more food between each mouthful/spoonful of food. Doesn’t matter what food it is, he will scream the place down and open his mouth for more ! It’s like he can’t get enough food food in quick enough / like he’s starving (he definitely isn’t!) he’s a big boy, 10.4lbs born ! if he so much as sees somebody eating food he wants it and screams for it too !
my daughter never did this, is this a normal thing ? He makes such a scene when we go out to a cafe or restaurant 😂 any ideas on how to stop / slow him down would be great !

Does he have his own food he can pick up? Stuff that takes longer to chew/gum?

My 14 month old still does this, he loves his foods he's never full. If he sees someone with food even if he's just eaten he will want some. He constantly wants to be outside and always on the go so he's not over weight. I just think some babies are like this 😊

Yep I can relate mine were the same 😂

Agree with pp of things that take longer to eat / them being in control. Stuff like carrot battons, brocolli and pasta, elongated meatballs, cheese sticks, toast soldiers, omelette slices.
What mummy makes is great she has lots of stuff.

I’m glad it’s not just him ! I’ve been slowly trying to let him do it himself but I’m hesitant to give him much to do himself as I panic so much about choking ! I’m not sure why as I never panicked with my daughter but there’s a 10 year age gap so everything seems new again !
ill start to give him more things to do himself and hope it calms him down a little 😂

My youngest was like that. He would cry whilst eating his breakfast, and say he was so hungry and couldn’t eat fast enough.

He’s grown up now, 6 foot tall and skinny. He still gets hangry for food. He eats loads and loves cooking and eating.

I’m assuming you give him milk before food?

They changed that advice a couple years ago. When I weaned my now 5 year old I was told milk first but when I weaned my now 2 year old I was told solids first.

The below quote is taken from the NHS weaning website.

"Start offering them food before their usual milk feed as they might not be interested if they're full, but do not wait until your baby is too hungry."

Thanks for all the advice, we have been letting him do it himself completely and he hasn’t screamed once whilst doing this ! Although it’s very messy and a nightmare when out with him 😂
