Hi mumsnetters, hoping someone can shed a little light.
My six month old did the attached poop today - does it look normal or worrying? He has very recently started solid, a few days ago, today he had butternut squash, about two hours before poop.

Hoping to hear your thoughts, I'm a bit worried!

Not something to worry about , nappies can become very interesting and varied when they are starting on proper food !

Thank you!! You don't think this is like coffee grounds which are described as happening when they is gi bleeding? It's unlikely, isn't it...

I think you should familiarise yourself with what this actually looks like because it’s nothing like your child’s nappies.
Poops can be worrying when they start to change and look different than expected but as PP said it’s part and parcel of starting solids!

Thank you, that's super reassuring to know. It's all ok now, btw, as you rightly suspected ☺️

OP - word of warning because no one ever told me: prepare yourself for the tiny little strings which appear after baby has banana for the first time. Very worm looking, definitely not worms!

Absolutely NOT coffee grounds.
