Baby dropped from 75th centile to 9th

LB was born weighing 8lbs11oz. The HV plotted his weight wrong on the chart, was meant to be on the 75th centile but she’d plotted it for the 9th. He ended up having jaundice at birth and then quite bad reflux we got given gaviscon and he’s still sicky now but nowhere near as much. He’s always been bottle fed, 13 weeks now weighing at 12lbs5oz. Currently he’s following the 9th centile.

We were seen by a new HV who pointed this mistake out to us, I don’t understand how he could have dropped so drastically! When he was weighed at 3 days old he’d dropped less than 5% of his birth weight and for jaundice we were told that’s really good. He has 5oz every 3/4 hours and sometimes leaves a bit of milk behind, lots of wet and dirty nappies.

has anyone else had anything similar happen to them and turn out ok? HV said they will discuss in a meeting tomorrow and might need to be seen my paediatrics.

Born 9lb 2oz here. Not sure on weight but by 3/4 months had dropped to below 20th centile. I'd been telling them for ages something was up but no one listened until then. Very colicky/reflux/sicky.

All stopped when we cut dairy and soy - it was CMPA. Found more allergies along the way which has helped a lot and now at 17 months he's back up on 75th centile and totally healthy.

Get the GP on board, get the paediatric referal, if is dietary get dietician referal too. Help is power.

My DD dropped from 91st to 2nd percentile, so quite extreme! She later went back up to the 25th percentile and has broadly tracked that ever since (now age 12 years). There was a lot of concern at the time but in the end we concluded her weight at birth was probably artificially inflated (she was 19 days overdue and I was induced, which apparently do inflate birth weight).
