Arrythmia In kids. Does anyone have any advice?

DS 9 has been having dizzy spells. He's otherwise fit and healthy. Took him to GP, who said we should have ECG. Did this with nurse and machine showed arrhythmia. Nurse couldn't give any other info and said the tests would go to GP for review. It's been 2 days and I'm driving myself slightly mad with worry. Does anyone have any experience or advice. Trying to stay away from Google Confused

"arrhythmia" is an umbrella term covering all types of irregular heartbeat.

Is it possible they meant "sinus arrhythmia"? This is actually a normal finding, just means irregular spacing between heartbeats.

Thanks for responding. It could be. There was a printout with lots of different traces and these said arrhythmia on it. He took 3 sets of traces. I need to try to stop worrying and wait for an answer. Thanks.

Ring the GP in the morning and ask for an update.

If your son faints or passes out or become a noticeably worse go to A&E.

Finally don’t panic. Arrhythmia is a generic term and there may not be anything seriously wrong. Automatic interpretations on ECG’s are not always accurate but if he does need care paediatric cardiologists are really good at looking after kids and dealing with any heart issues.

Thanks @lawsly. I called last night and receptionist can see it has been added to system but waiting doc review. Hopefully they will look at it today.
