Lyme Disease - 8 year old - any advice

Unfortunately my daughter appears to have Lyme disease. She had a tick, which I fully removed. A few days later the bite site became very red and within 24 hours she was feeling unwell. Shivers, joint ache, plus tummy ache, a cough and runny nose. After two visits to the walk in, she has been given 21 days of antibiotics to take as a preventative measure in case it is Lymes. Today is day 2 of meds. She’s been feeling cold and tired today. She’s on rest and we’re taking the meds.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there anything else I could be doing to better her recovery? Anyone with any experience and insight please?

thank you xx

The important thing is that you know she was bitten and you got antibiotics. I had preventative anti-biotics for a tick bite with rash (but no symptoms). No long term effects.

She should start to feel better soon, if she doesn't, go back to your GP.
