5 year old fractured wrist yesterday

Hi all, hoping for some advice.
my 5 year old fractured his wrist yesterday and has been put in a splint for 6 weeks. All fine in himself yesterday and this morning.
this evening he has come home from school very tiered, not eating much and shivering cold but hot to touch so he has a temperature. The temp has come down with calpol and he has gone to sleep.
do you think this could be related to his fractured wrist injury?
im panicking a bit…
it could of course just be a cold but I’m really over thinking it.
any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yes I would get him seen just in case - call 111 Flowers

My little one went into shock after fracturing her arm and was shaking and cold. I would call the NHs if you are worried, better be safe .

did your little one go into shock before you had it checked or after it had been sorted at the hospital?
thank you

My DS had a nasty break at the same age. I think needed to rest and heal but little kids are not good at that so overdo it and the body shuts down. I’d get him seen for your own peace of mind but fingers crossed just needs a rest.
