Cough remedies for toddler

My LB is 2 and has awful cough I've been to the doctors and they have said nothing is wrong but this cough is chesty and he becomes wheezy at night. He's been like this since Sunday and it's now Friday . I've seen that honey helps with coughs but how could I give this to my LB ?

Give it off a spoon or melt into warm water and get him to drink it.
