Are they Bum Worms, if they Don't Move?

Really, really gross one - be warned!!

2yo up all night, screaming about having an itchy bum (usually quite an easy child). Looked up "toddler itchy bum at night", and happened across thread / pinworms as an explanation. I subsequently went through his poo with a fork this morning, same with 4yo. Disgusting I know, but didn't know what to think. Both have what look exactly like threadworms in their poo - however, all were completely still. Does that mean they can't be worms? Or can the ones in poo be static, even before Ovex? No bum scratches today btw.

Thanks for reading, if you've got this far!

Sounds like pin worms, get yourself off to the pharmacy and get treatment for the whole family, also wash all bedding and towels etc

Thanks. So it's irrelevant whether they move or not?

If they’re not moving, they’re dead.

Okay thanks both. Not sure why they would be dead already, but I'll take the win!
