Does this look like HFM? Doctor said it was impetigo. This was a while ago and he was given Fucidin cream. He was lightly under the weather but I didn't notice any spots anywhere else and it all blew over uneventfully.

I ask because there have been cases of HFM in nursery now and I'm wondering if he's already had it and will have some immunity to it? Though I understand it's caused by a few different viruses.

It looks similar to HFM my son had a few weeks ago. He had a lot of blisters filled with fluids that scabbed over. Were the spots just on his mouth? My DS had spots all over apart from on his tummy and back and he was poorly for a couple of days. I know it was HFM as I caught it.

I thought impetigo was yellow-ish in colour.

@Blackcat910 Sorry to hear you've both had it. How was it when you caught it?
I thought impetigo was crusty yellow too so now I'm having doubts

@dizzy1982 I won’t lie it was extremely unpleasant, started with aches and a high fever then I developed a horrendous sore throat from the blisters. That went and I had a couple of days with bad mouth ulcers, then blisters on my fingers. The skin on my fingers has been peeling off. The worst of it lasted about 5 days, I felt much better once the mouth ulcers went.

DS was poorly but only for 48 hours. Once his rash came out he was much happier. It’s taken a few weeks for the spots to go.

@Blackcat910 Oh no really sorry to hear that. Such an unpleasant illness I wish there were vaccines against it as it sounds medieval! I'm glad you got through it though.
Sending LO into nursery with it going around feels like playing a game of roulette Confused
