DS has just turned 12 weeks and for the past week or so he's been suffering terribly with gas and trapped wind. It must be so sore for him as he's inconsolable until he passes wind. The only thing we've found helps a little is lying him down flat.

I'm just wondering what this could be - is this something that all babies go through at this age? Why has it come on all of a sudden?

He is EBF and putting on weight like a trooper!

Well, this is controversial but the childhood injections around that age can affect the gut. Its usually described as colic.

Yes - he did have his 12 week injections the other day and the rotavirus one did affect his bowels. But this has been happening for a few days/a week even before the injection.
