DS snotty nose for 7 weeks, when will it end and sleep come back to me?!

My DS 8 months has had a cold/snotty nose for about 8 weeks now, pretty much as soon as he started nursery. In the day it's tolerable with the odd candle nose wiping etc but at night time oh my gosh it's killing me off. As soon as he's laid down we just have such congestion and coughing like it's dripping down his throat. He's made himself sick tonight he's been coughing the snot up that much. You name it I've tried it, humidifier, sniffle babe, Vicks plug in, saline spray but it's honestly making no difference. Every 10 minutes I'm up to resettle him as he can't have his dummy in because he's so bunged up he can't breathe.

My little girl has had cold but never this long- when will it end?! Please offer a very very tired mamma some wisdom!

Have you tried vicks on the soles of the feet? Sounds weird I know, but it can help.

Also raising one of of the cot?

@AdmiralCoconut I haven't I will definitely give this a go! Any ideas for how to raise the cot slightly? It doesn't have a tilt bar like the snuzpod did.

We have just out books under one end of the legs on ours - it has worked! My LO has been the same for last 3 weeks but it has def helped and so has Vicks on the feet

Yep. Raising the top end of the cot on books. About 3 inches.
Calpol plug in and loads of vitamin C - vitamins, oranges and kiwi fruit.

It's not gone but it's better.
