Unfortunately I don't know anything about the medication you have mentioned, but I just wanted to say I'm sorry your DD has been struggling with a cough that is obviously disturbing you both during the night.

Have you tried using extra pillows while she has a cough? Or sleeping on her side instead of her back? Maybe see how she goes with the medication till the end of the week and if there hasn't been any difference, then it might be worth going back to the doctors.

I hope you both get some sleep

Has whooping cough been ruled out? I would video her coughing fit to show the GP if you haven't already.

Moonlight1290 · 01/09/2024 09:41

@LovelyDayInnit yes ruled out I recorded it for GP it seems to be like a spasm of phelm or heartburn coming up an thats causing the choking spasms her wee stomach gurgles after it which is why it's being treated as acid reflux for now I suppose I'm expecting miracles from lansoprazole but we are only on it 3 days so il prob have to be patient an wait an see how this goes.

One of my kids is in on lansoprasole. Once her reflux has flared up it can take awhile to get it under control again. Hope it settles for your daughter soon.

@LovelyDayInnit yea well she's been given this for a month to see if it helps an if not then back to drawing board I'm not seeing huge improvement yet but then again she's had this 3weeks an we only got medication for it on Thursday past so maybe if it's bad enough it will take a while to work it's good to know it takes a while to get under control as iv never had experience of relux in toddler etc xx
