Eye Hospital referral for blurred discs

This is my first post but hoping for some reassurance!

in April my 10 year old had a regular eye test. She already wears glasses for shortsightedness. Her prescription has changed a bit, but the optician checked her eyes and did an OCT and has referred her to the hospital due to slightly blurred discs.

It was referred as urgent but the optician said that she would probably wait a bit on the basis that she has no other symptoms, headaches etc.

By July no appointment had arrived so I went back to the optician and they repeated the OCT, no changes were seen but no worse either. So the optician said to continue to wait for the appointment and go back if any symptoms became apparent, which they haven’t.

Finally got a appt for the end of Oct, but the wait is horrendous as Google is not being my friend as you read all sorts! I’m just clinging onto the fact that she’s having no other symptoms!

Does any know what the appointment will consist of as it’s the day before my daughter goes on her year 6 residential!
