Infantile scoliosis - Sheffield

Hi everyone :)

My son is currently 9 months old and has been treated for torticollis since 5 months. The tightness in his neck is much better but we have learnt that his neck tilt is largely due to infantile scoliosis. We have not yet been told whether it is congenital or positional (although the structure of each individual bone seems to be normal from his xray.) He has roughly 25 degree curve to the top half of his spine and has been referred to the spine specialists in Sheffield (waiting to be seen.)

Does anybody else have any experience with this? I’m really hoping to find some information about what the treatment is likely to be. Will they treat him this young? Will he need an operation or will they cast/brace him? If so, how long for, etc. I know each individual case is very different but I’m struggling to find any information online about how babies of this age are treated in the UK.

Thanks in advance for any help x
