Baby bit off and swallowed a bit of his bath sponge.

Long story short, DS was in the bath and is teething. He was biting his sponge and bit a little bit off which I think he swallowed. He seems okay and isn’t coughing etc. which would indicate it’s in his windpipes. Any advice would be much appreciated.

How big do you think the piece was?

My little boy did this once or twice as well with no ill effects. We swapped to using flannels in the bath, it's harder to take a lump out of one of those!

He should be fine, but I would not let a baby have a sponge, it's a choking risk. Give him a flannel to hold instead.

He'll be fine, you might see it in his nappy. My ds when a toddler had a sponge ball (sort of like a stress ball) that he bit a chunk out of and swallowed, I freaked out but he was totally fine and it was in his poop the next day.
