Despite the name hand foot and mouth start d in the nappy area with 3 of my children. I would watch and wait. Chicken pox will spread to the whole body pretty quickly.

Yes I agree with this. Looks very like the start of my daughter’s HFM which started around her bottom before HFM areas.
if it’s chickenpox there will likely be more randomly and fairly quickly although one of my three kids had chickenpox and it was only a handful of blisters

Another vote for hand, foot and mouth

Thanks all. She has a few on her legs but nowhere else.
This appeared Saturday morning(no blisters) got work yesterday but blistered this morning.
I always thought these things would spread first before blistering? Maybe not.

Got the doctors at 2pm so will come back at confirm to you all!

I’d agree it’s HFM too. Chicken pox usually starts on chest/trunk, not nappy area.

What an afternoon I've had.

So I went to the doctors and she said it looks like nappy rash that's got infected.
Prescribed DD ABs and it'll get better within 5 days. I said what about the blisters on hands and feet (that appeared early this afternoon), she said nappy rash can spread, so I said really? And she said yes.

Later I phone nursery to tell them and they tell me a large number of kids have got HFM over the weekend, so DD is 100% likely to have that. Not sure why I didn't phone them earlier in the day to check...

But anyway you were all right!!
And how can the doctor be so wrong? She was young, but still! So I'm now not going to make DD take ADs because I don't think she needs them!
