Sorry to post in children’s health but it makes more sense to post in here as I will probably get more responses from parents! Has anyone ever caught it off there DC?

my kids had a viral illness which I thought I caught the back end of but now I think it’s actually something different!

I have had a very sore throat since yesterday morning. More a sensation like something is stuck in it….It’s quite red but not inflamed. One lymph node is up in my neck.

Just checked my mouth and my tongue looks like this!? Wtf!? Is this strep? I obviously will call the doctors first thing but this just looks worrying? Has anyone had this before ? My tongue literally looks like it’s burnt both sides ? I have no other symptoms but a sore throat

Is it a ‘strawberry Tongue’ ?

To me this just looks a bit irritated but keep an eye to see if it develops. My son had SF recently and the strawberry tongue looked insane and was undeniable. Bright red all over surface not just the sides (shockingly red), swollen, small dots and a white coating. Throat also had white coating and spots.

Are there any little red dots on roof of your mouth? My two (and I) seem to get this with strep infections (different to full blown scarlet fever).

It’s not scarlet fever, are your tonsils enlarged with white spots at the back when you look with a light shine on them

Not sure. But you do have lovely teeth
