So my little man is 5.5 months old now and the beginning of last week started with a cold (I have also had one). I took him to the doctor's last week to get checked that he didn't have an ear infection etc, all clear.
On Thursday he started with a cough. At first I just assumed the cold as it seemed to come and go. But Sunday night it got worse. He sounds really chesty and sometimes it sounds like it hurts him to cough. I took him back to the doctor's yesterday as I was worried it could have been bronchiolitis - but his chest is clear? I'm really surprised at this because you can feel it all in his back when he's breathing.
He's still feeding pretty well considering but really struggles with his morning bottle. He sounds so snorty and snotty when he's drinking. I think he wants more as he stares at the bottle but it must be too hard for him to have back. He does pick up a bit as the day goes on. I've tried to use the saline spray and snot sucker but I physically can't do it on my own. He won't keep still, then gets upset which in turn makes him cough more.
He's otherwise absolutely fine in himself, no temperature, plenty of wet nappies.
Has anyone else had similar? And how long did it take to clear?
I hate seeing him so uncomfortable 😣
