Hey!
So my DS who is 4.5 has over the weekend started urinating frequently. Every half an hour-45 mins or so, and most of the time is next to thing/a dribble. No temp, no signs of pain upon urinating. Over the weekend we had to stop on short car journeys (15 mins max) because he needs a wee. This morning since 6.15am to 11.15am he has used the toilet 6 times.
A couple of months ago he was in hospital due to an infection, and was put on abx. They did his BS levels whilst in and they were at 9.2 but said they can be slightly elevated be due to the infection, and to keep an eye for thirst and urination, weight loss etc.
Since then I haven't noticed much change in any of that becoming more frequent until this weekend. He does drink a fair amount (usually water!) .. wakes in the night for huge drinks lately and goes back off. He wet the bed 2 nights on the trot about a week ago but hasn't since.
He also complains of being hungry, day and night (no signs of worms 🤮 as I did wonder this when it first started 🙈) so put it down to a potentially incoming growth spurt. He also complains now and again of tired legs!?
Bowel movement is ok, if anything he can be slightly constipated but does empty bowels every day.
I have booked him in at the GP for this afternoon due to me initially thinking it was a UTI, would I be OTT to mention concerns regarding diabetes as it was previously mentioned in hospital too? I have no experience on diabetes so don't know where to start or what symptoms would be in a young child so was jsut wondering if anyone had any similiar experiences.
Tia!
