Unsure on new born baby face rash

Hi would really appreciate some other opinions on the rash my baby currently has that came on yesterday

he is 5 weeks old and the rash as shown in the pictures is only on his face and top of chest, he is bottle fed on Kendamil infant formula

the rash seems to get worse while he is feeding so not sure it’s related to him getting warm, have only ever used water wipes sometimes on his face and other than that warm water in the bath

spoke to the doctors but they can’t get me an appointment this week at all which is shocking and just want a second opinion from others as A&E waiting times are ridiculous in my area

I'm sorry, but at that age I'd want him seen asap. Can you phone 111 after hours and request one?

Mumoftwo1316 · 01/07/2024 18:53

I'd call 111 too. You never know, it could be measles (I'm not a doctor).

Health visitor or midwife?

minipie · 01/07/2024 18:59

It looks like baby acne, but that would usually appear gradually rather than all at once. I agree it’s worth persisting, 111 seems sensible or perhaps ask if GP can look at photos even if no appointments?

Needmorelego · 01/07/2024 19:02

When you rang for a GP did you say it's a 5 week old baby with a rash? That is often a trigger word for getting an emergency appointment.
Definitely ring 111 because they might be able to get you an appointment tonight.
Fingers crossed it's nothing serious 💐

I'm fairly confident it's baby acne - my son had it when he was very poorly in hospital and I had several doctors and nurses opinions on it but it's absolutely worth getting it checked !

Did you ever get to the bottom my 5 week old baby has exactly this? Also how long did it take to go
