DS (1yr) has woken up with a red and sticky eye after his afternoon nap at nursery everyday so far this week. We collect him when he wakes anyway so we clean it with cooled boiled water and don’t see any further discharge in the evening. By the morning the eye is no longer red, maybe a little more dried discharge than normal but nothing further until the afternoon. This has repeated everyday.
I’ve spoken with the Dr, they won’t see him but have sent a prescription to the pharmacy that we can collect if we want to try them. The advice was to just keep cleaning it and call back if it doesn’t go away in a few more days. Our experience with both DC in the past is that eye infections progress quickly and the symptoms don’t come and go so I’m really hesitant to use the antibiotics unnecessarily.
Anyone have any experience with this being an infection?
